Transcendental qualities and demonic qualities, how to recognize them?
The three modes of worship:
1-Those who are in the mode of goodness worship the demigods.
2-Those who are in the mode of passion worship demons, and
3-those who are in the mode of darkness worship the dead and ghosts.
Divine and demonic natures 1-3.
The Supreme Personality of The Divinity said: Fearlessness, purification of one’s existence, culture of spiritual knowledge, charity, control of meaning, execution of sacrifice, study of Vedas, austerity, simplicity, non-violence, truthfulness, freedom of anger, renunciation, peace, aversion to fault, compassion for every living entity, freedom of greed, gentleness, shyness, determination, forgiveness of vigor, courage, cleanliness and freedom of envy and passion for honor –
These are the transcendental qualities, born of the pious atmosphere, O son of Bharata.
Explanation:
At the beginning of the 15th chapter, the banyan tree of this material world was explained. The additional roots that emerged were compared to the activities of living entities, some auspicious, others ominous. In the Ninth Chapter, too, the devas, or pious, and the asuras, the ungodly, or demons, were explained. Now, according to Vedic rites, activities in a mode of goodness are considered to bode well for progress on the path to liberation, and these activities are known as daiva-prakriti, transcendental in nature. Those who are located in transcendental nature progress on the path of liberation.
Those who act in the modes of passion and ignorance, on the other hand, there is no possibility of liberation. Either they will have to stay in this material world as human beings, or they will descend among the species of animals or other even lower life forms.
The Lord explains the transcendental nature and its qualities of witness, as well as the demonic nature and its qualities. It also explains the pros and cons of these qualities.
4. Those born with demonic qualities show pride, arrogance, false prestige, anger, hardness and ignorance,
Explanation:
In this verse, the royal road to hell is described. The demoniacs want to demonstrate religion and advancement in spiritual science, although they do not follow the principles. They are always arrogant, proud to possess a certain type of education or wealth. Eager to be adored by others, they demand respect, although they do not command respect. For trifles, they get very angry, and they talk hard, not softly. They do not know what to do and what should not be done. They do everything in a fanciful way, according to their own desire, and they do not recognize any authority. These demonic qualities are taken by them from the beginning of their entry into the womb of their mothers, and as they grow up, they manifest all these qualities of bad omen.
5. Transcendental goods lead to liberation, while demonic assets are destined for servitude.
6- 0 sons of Prtha, in this world there are two kinds of being created. One is called divine and the other demonic. I have already explained to you at length the divine qualities; now I’m going to describe the demonic.
7. Those of demonic quality do not know what needs to be done and what should not be done. They are unclean, they do not know how to behave, and there is no truth in them.
8-They say that this world is unreal, that there is no foundation and that there is no God in control. It is the product of sexual desire and has no other cause than lust.
Explanation: The demonic concluded that the creation of the world is a phantasmagoria. There is no cause or effect, no controller, no goal; everything is unreal. As the will is caused by some atmospheric changes, so that this cosmic manifestation is due to fortuitous material actions and reactions. That’s their conclusion. They do not think that the world was created by God for a certain purpose. They have their own theory: that the world came its way and that there is no reason to believe that there could be a God behind it. For them, there is no difference between mind and matter, and they do not accept the Supreme Spirit. Everything is only matter, and the whole cosmos is supposed to be a mass of ignorance. According to them, everything is empty, and whatever manifestation exists is due to our ignorance in perception. They assume that any manifestation of diversity is a demonstration of ignorance. Just like in a dream, we can create so many things that don’t really exist, so when we wake up, we’ll see that everything is just a dream. But in fact, although demons say that life is a dream, they are very expert in enjoying that dream. And so instead of getting knowledge, they become more and more involved in their dream country.
9. As a result of such conclusions, the demoniacs, lost to themselves and without intelligence, engage in horrible and unbeneficial works designed to destroy the world.
Explanation: The demoniacs are engaged in activities that will lead the world to destruction. The Lord declares here that they are less intelligent.
