A demonic person believes in the strength of his personal work, not in the law of karma. According to the law of karma, a man starts in a high family or becomes rich, highly educated, or very handsome because of good work in the past. The demonic thinks that all these things are accidental and because of the strength of his personal ability. It feels no arrangement behind the varieties of people, beauty and education. Anyone who competes with such a demonic man is his enemy. There are many demonic people, and each is an enemy of others.
This inequity becomes more and more deeply rooted between people, then between families, then between societies, and finally between nations. So there are constant conflicts, war and inequity all over the world. Every demon thinks he can live to the sacrifice of all the others. In general, a demonic person considers himself the Supreme God, and demonic preachers instruct their disciples:
“Why are you looking for God elsewhere? You are all God yourself! Anything you want, you can do. Don’t believe in God. Throw God away. The cod is dead. Make sacrifices such as those prescribed in the Vedas. Similarly, in the present era, these demonic men are striving to reach the higher planetary systems through mechanical arrangements.
These are examples of the perplexity of the demonic. The result is that, unbeknownst to them, they slip into hell. Here, the Sanskrit word moha-jala is very significant. Jala means net; as fish are caught in a net, they have no way out.
17. Self-complacent self-complacent and always impudent, deceived by wealth and false prestige, they sometimes make sacrifices in name only, without following rules or regulations.
18. Bewildered by false ego, strength, pride, lust and anger, the demon becomes jealous of the Supreme Personality of the Divinity, which is located in his own body and in others, and blasphemy against true religion.
Explanation: A demonic person, always against the existence of The Supremacy of God, does not like to believe in the Scriptures. He is jealous of both the scriptures and the existence of the Supreme Personality of God-
Because of its so-called prestige and its accumulation of wealth and strength. He does not know that today’s life is a preparation for the next life. Not knowing this, he is actually envious of himself, as well as of others. He commits violence on other bodies and on his own. He does not care about the supreme control of the Personality of the Divinity because he has no knowledge. Envious of the Scriptures and the Supreme Personality of the Divinity, he puts forward a false logic against the existence of God and refutes scriptural authority. He thinks he is independent and powerful in every action.
He thinks that no one can match him in strength, power or wealth, so he can act in any way and no one can stop him. If there is an enemy who could verify the progress of his sensual activities, he plans to reduce it by his power.
19. Because they are envious and mischievous, the lowest of men, I have never put them back in the ocean of material existence, in various demonic species of life.
Explanation: In this verse, it is clearly stated that putting a particular individual soul in a particular body is the prerogative of the supreme will. The demonic person may not accept the lord’s supremacy, and it is a fact that he may act on his own whims, but his next birth will depend on the decision of the Supreme Personality of the Godhead and not on himself. In Srimad-Bhagavatam,
Third Canto, it is said that an individual soul, after his death, is put in the womb of a mother where he obtains a particular type of body under the supervision of a higher power. Therefore, in material existence, we find so many species of life-animals, humans and so on. All this is arranged by this higher power; it is not accidental. As for the demonic, it is clearly stated here that they are perpetually put in the bowels of demons and therefore they continue to be envious, the lowest of humanity. These demonic species of life are always held to be full of lust, always violent and hateful and always unclean.
20. Acquiring the repeated birth among the species of demonic life, these people can never approach Me. Gradually, they descend to the most abominable position of existence.
