It is known that God is all-merciful, but here we find that God is never merciful to the demonic. It is clearly stated that the demonic people, after life, are put in the bowels of similar demons. Not getting the mercy of the Supreme Lord, they descend and descend so that they finally reach bodies like those of cats, dogs and pigs. It is clearly stated that such demons have virtually no chance of receiving God’s mercy at any stage of later life.
In Vedas, it is also said that these wires gradually descend to become dogs and pigs. It can be argued that God should not be announced as all-merciful, since He is not merciful to such demons. In answer to this question, in the Vedànta-sâtra tells us that the Supreme Lord has no hatred or favor for anyone. Putting the asuras, the demons, in the lowest status of life is simply another characteristic of His mercy. Sometimes the asuras are killed by the Supreme Lord. This murder is also good for them, because in Vedic literature we find that every person killed by the Supreme Lord is freed. There is no moment in the history of many asuras-Ravana, Kamsa, Hiranyaka-ipu, to whom the Lord appeared in various incarnations just to kill them. This is why God’s mercy is shown to the asuras if they are lucky enough to be killed by Him. In this case we say: Death is a gain. Christian Bible ( Philippians 1:21)
21. There are three gates leading to hell – lust, anger and greed. Any sane man should abandon them, for they lead to the degradation of the soul.
22. He who is freed from these gates of hell, performs acts conducive to his self-realization and thus gradually reaches the supreme destination.
Explanation: One must be very careful of these three enemies to human life: lust, anger and greed. The more a person is freed from lust, anger and greed, the purer his or her existence becomes. Then it can follow the rules and regulations enjoined in Vedic literature. By following the principles of the regulation of human life, we gradually rise to the platform of spiritual realization. If one has the chance, by such a practice, to rise to the platform of Krsna consciousness, then success is guaranteed for him.
(Krsna here is akin to Christ who is a high level of human consciousness)
In Vedic literature, modes of action and reaction are prescribed just to bring someone to the stage of purification. The whole method is based on abandoning; greed, lust and anger. By cultivating knowledge of how to do it, one is elevated to the highest position of self-realization; this self-realization is perfect in devotional service. In devotional service, the liberation of the conditioned soul is guaranteed. Therefore, according to the divine and demonic natures of the Vedic system, he instituted the four orders of life and the four social statutes, called
spiritual system and caste system. There are different rules and regulations for different castes or divisions of society, and if a person is able to follow them, he will automatically be elevated to the highest platform of spiritual achievement. Then he can have liberation without a doubt.
So all is not completely lost, but why persist in the ephemeral?
23 He who acts in a whimsical way, not caring about the rules of the scriptures, can never attain perfection, nor happiness, nor the supreme destination.
24 We should know what is duty and what is not duty by the regulations of the Scriptures. Knowing such rules and regulations, action must be taken to be progressively elevated.
Explanation: As stated in the 15th chapter, all Vedas rules and regulations are intended to know Krsna. If one understands Krsna of the Bhagavad-gita and Christ in the Bible and becomes located in the Krsna consciousness, engaging in the service of devotion, one has attained the highest perfection of the knowledge offered by Vedic literature.
This is perfection- “Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”
Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu made this process very easy: He asked people simply to sing Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krâna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Hare Hare and engage in the Lord’s devotional service and ***eat the rest food offered to the Deity.***
This Mantra is effective when bestowed by a perfect Master which gives it power for the purpose of meditation only.
***This does not mean, sacrifice offered to invisible spirits, the spirits of Vodou (Haitians loas,) But, it is a way of telling us that we must pray on food to bless it (the daily bread received legally) before consuming it. And most importantly, not just any food! ***
Whoever is directly engaged in all these devotional activities should be understood to have studied all Vedic literature and to have come to the conclusion perfectly.
Of course, for ordinary people who are not conscious or engaged in devotional service, what needs to be done and what should not be done must be decided by the Vedas injunctions. We must act on this, without argument. This is called following the principles of the sastra, or the Scriptures. Sastra is free from the four main visible defects in the conditioned soul: imperfect senses, the propensity to cheat, the certainty of making mistakes, and the certainty of being deluded. These four main defects in conditioned life disqualify someone who does not respect the rules and regulations.
Therefore, the rules and regulations described in the sastra-being over these defects are accepted without alteration by all great saints, acaras and great souls. In India in particular there are many parts of spiritual understanding generally classified as two: impersonalists and personalist. Both, however, live their lives according to the principles of the Vedas, without following the principles of the Scriptures, one cannot rise to the stage of perfection. In human society, aversion to the principles of understanding the Supreme Personality of the Divinity is the cause of all falls. This is the greatest offense of human life. Therefore, the material energy of the Supreme Personality of the Divinity, always gives us trouble in the form of the three miseries. This material energy consists of the three modes of material nature. At least we must rise to the mode of goodness before the path of understanding of the Supreme Lord is opened. Without rising to the norm of the mode of goodness one remains in ignorance and passion, which make one gradually become demonic.
